Happy Martyr artwork

Happy Martyr is a musical collaboration between Alex Lusty and Boz Boorer, their style has been described as Urban Folk Music and "Ian Dury fronting early T Rex." With two singles released this year they are now in the process of putting an album together.

The band were looking for artwork to go with the release so I came up with the bombs design for them, pleased with this Alex asked me if I could draw a cartoon of the two of them.

The album to due out in October and you can listen to a few tracks over at MySpace.

I was pleased to be asked by Flamingo Magazine to take part in their new series of doodle interviews.

Something that makes me laugh:

I saw this guy in the local town centre, the miscast superhero brightened up my day, for all the wrong reasons.

What I would do if I was Prime Minister for the day:

Running round 10 Downing Street in my pants and vest, later I'll get around to solving the economic crisis but first some fun.

What I would save if the house was on fire:

I have a lot of crap and don't think I'd make it out alive.

Something I am proud of:

I'm sure there are other, more important things but I do enjoy coiffuring a good quiff.

How to build a Cybear

This is Oli and I, fashion icons and co-creators of CYBEAR. Oli writes the scripts and I do the artwork. The process usually begins down the pub where we discuss plots, characters and silliness. Silliness is very important.

Later on, when we're not at the pub anymore, Oli gets to writing and emails me the finished script. I'll then have a cup of tea and sketch a rough plan of how the page will look.

After that, and more tea I pencil and ink the final page. This then gets scanned and I finish the page by colouring and adding the text.
